CHAPPELL HILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOSTS ANNUAL BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL
Chappell Hill is hosting its annual “Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival” today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).
There are over 250 vendors, plenty of children’s activities and of course plenty of food and beverages for the entire family. Live music includes acts such as upcoming artist Abigail Taylor and Julia Hatfield. The festival also offers live musical entertainment both dates and an opportunity to tour many of the historic buildings that offer a look into Texas history and Texas’ independence. Only an hour from downtown Houston, families can enjoy the picturesque countryside and welcome in the spring season while celebrating the state flower, the Texas Bluebonnet.
A photo contest will also be held for the 2016 Scarecrow Festival artwork for local Washington County photographers. This year’s Bluebonnet Festival poster features photography by local resident Ted Winkle. Photographs highlighting the scenic and picturesque beauty of Chappell Hill will be judged and a winner announced August 1st.
KWHI and our sister-station, KTEX 106 will be broadcasting live from this year’s Bluebonnet Festival. The festival will run from 9:00am to 6:00pm on the 9th and from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
