FATAL ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY SIX OUTSIDE OF BRYAN

  

A person has died after a car accident involving a horse trailer just outside of Bryan Friday afternoon.

A 2005 Ford pickup towing a horse trailer was heading north on Highway 6 when the right rear tire of the pickup had a blowout near Sadberry Road. The truck and trailer rolled over onto the passenger side. A 2014 GMC pickup travelling southbound then struck the cab of the Ford.

The driver of the Ford pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan with unknown injuries.

The two horses that were in the trailer were rescued from the accident, however a dog that was traveling in the Ford died from injuries sustained in the crash. Both lanes on Highway 6 were closed for over two hours.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
