The scholarships are awarded once in the Spring Semester and once in the Fall Semester of each year. In order to qualify for the Sheriff Joe Goodson Memorial Scholarship, the student must meet the certain requirements in addition to being son or daughter of a current Peace Officer serving the State of Texas.

Ty is a senior at Texas A&M University, majoring in University Studies, with 26 hours to complete, before he will receive his degree.  “A special Thank You to Mrs. Goodson and the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas for helping him achieve his goal,” says Sheriff Brandes.
