WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS WORKERS COMPENSATION COVERAGE
The Washington County Commissioners Court will meet on Tuesday to discuss expanding workers compensation coverage for its employees.
The commissioners will also consider a resolution to add optional workers compensation coverage under the county’s contract with the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool.
The optional coverage would pertain to volunteers who provide services to the county. While the county has included volunteers under its workers compensation coverage in previous years, the resolution would add a wider range of volunteers- including chaplains that work in the county jail.
In other business, the commissioners will also consider a request from the family of Bob Searle, a former sheriff’s office employee. The family is requesting to purchase Searle’s duty-issued firearm at the same price as the county’s purchasing price.
The commissioners will also consider two requests for platting variances for subdivisions. The first request is at Old Chappell Hill Road and the other request pertains to Trackside Road.
The Washington County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in room 103 of the county’s courthouse.
