EARLY VOTING OPEN FOR BURTON RACES
Early voting for the May 6th election began on Monday in the state of Texas.
There are only two contested races in Washington County- both taking place in Burton.
Burton Mayor Peggy Felder has filed for re-election. David Zaijcek has also filed for the position.
The City of Burton early voting is happening at City Hall, 12200 E. Mulberry Street, from April 24th to the 28th from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and May 1st through the 2nd from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Election Day, voting will take place at Burton High School.
On the Burton School Board, four candidates are seeking election to three at-large positions. Linda Majek Hasten filed for a position on the school board. Incumbents Felton Cox, Misty Goldberg Lucherk, and Jeff Harmel are seeking reelection.
Early voting for the school board is taking place at the Burton ISD Superintendent’s Office- 701 N. Railroad Street. The office is open for early voting until May 2nd, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday.
