The Washington on the Brazos State Park Association has a new president.

Cyndee Smith has been elected president of the Association for 2017-19.

Smith, a native of Columbus, TX, has been a board member of the association for more than seven years. She has served as vice president for three years and secretary for three years.

Smith co-chaired the park’s 175th anniversary celebration of Texas’ Independence in 2011, and has co-chaired the Sundown Social event several times.

Smith is presently senior vice president of Retail and Land Services at Oldham Goodwin Group of Bryan.

Her community service includes Camp For All, a special needs camp near Burton, where she has served for more than 15 years as board member with two years as president of the local Camp Friends group and chaired its annual fundraiser.

She’s also serves as a board member of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, graduate of Washington County Leadership Program and founding member and former president of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Houston, where was she was co-chair of the CREW National Convention.

The association is the support group for Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site. It is the oldest support group for any TPWD park or site.
