WASHINGTON CO. FAIR QUEEN CANDIDATES ANNOUNCED

  

The 2017 Washington County Fair Queen Candidates were announced Monday evening.  The four candidates introduced themselves to the crowd gathered at the Special Events Center at the Fairgrounds.

Ashley Mixon is representing the Brenham FFA.  Ashley is the daughter of John and Jana Mixon and is a senior at Brenham High School.  She is involved with horse and livestock judging, vet science, and dairy judging.  She has shown Simbrah cattle and is currently employed by Washington Animal Clinic.

Kennedy Altman is representing Washington County 4-H.  Kennedy is a senior at Brenham High School and is the daughter of Lance and Shannon Altman.  At school she is involved with student council, FCCLA, National Honor Society and FFA.  She has shown Lambs at the Washington County Fair and other major shows.  She is employed at Branded Boutique.

Calley McGinley is representing Burton FFA.  Calley is a senior at Burton High School and her parents are Susan and Michael Roehling and Jennifer and Jess McGinley.  She is involved with 4-H and FFA, and showing Simbrah cattle.  At Burton High School she is on the yearbook staff and plays on the softball team.

Molly Voskamp is representing Washington County 4-H.  Molly is a junior at Brenham High School and is the daughter of Casey and Teresa Voskamp.  At school she is on student council and plays on the softball team.  She is a member of the Heritage Belles and currently works at Blue Bell Creameries.

The Washington County Fair kicks off with the Barbecue Cook-Off on Friday September 15th.  The Queen Crowning will take place Saturday September 16th at 6:00 pm.  Season tickets to the Fair are available from each of the Queen candidates for $30 each.
