COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO LOOK AT LAND PURCHASE
The Washington County Commissioners Court will be looking to approve the purchase of land for an EMS Substation in Burton when they meet next Tuesday. The commissioners will consider the purchase of two acres of land for the EMS Substation and eventually an office for the Precinct-4 Justice of the Peace. An advanced community paramedic has been stationed in Burton since May of 2015, working out of a small office in city hall.
Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners will consider authorizing the 2018 Indigent Defense Formula Grant Program. They will also consider a revised fee schedule for the Washington County Environmental Health Department.
Commissioners are also expected to issue two proclamations. One will name October 1st through the 7th as Texas Extension Education Week in Washington County. The other will name October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Washington County.
