BELLVILLE MUNICIPAL JUDGE TERRI RESENDEZ ARRESTED

Former Bellville Municipal Court Judge Terri Resendez has been indicted by the Austin County Grand Jury for Theft of Property and Tampering with a Governmental Record.
The 59-year old Resendez was arrested Friday for the indictment by the Austin County Sheriff’s Office and was freed after a $20,000.00 bond.
Both charges are second degree felonies punishable by two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000.00 fine.
Resendez is accused of stealing funds from 2013 to 2016 from the City of Bellville during her tenure as Bellville Municipal Judge.
The Texas Attorney General’s Office is assisting the Bellville Police Department and the Austin County District Attorney’s Office with the investigation and prosecution.
After being notified of the discrepancies, District Attorney Travis Koehn requested the assistance of the Attorney General’s Office.
