BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC COOP APPROVES DIRECTORS
Three candidates for Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s board of directors have been elected by general consent, after they were unopposed in their respective races.
Incumbent Directors Richard Schmidt, District 1, Caldwell, Gonzales, Guadalupe and Hays counties, and Shana Whiteley, District 2, Travis County, retained their seats on the board. Bryan Bracewell was elected to an open seat from District 3, Bastrop County.
Bluebonnet’s general manager Matt Bentke says it is a vote of confidence from their members.
Schmidt has served on Bluebonnet’s board since 1994, presiding as board chairman from 2001 to 2014.
Whiteley joined Bluebonnet’s board in January 2018.
Bracewell will join the board in May.
Bluebonnet’s members elect their directors, who serve staggered three-year terms. One third of the 11-member board of directors is up for election every year.
Because the directors were unopposed and re-elected by general consent, there will be no board election during Bluebonnet’s Annual Meeting, Tuesday, May 8, at The Silos event center in Giddings. However, members can still submit proxies to be used if an agenda item during the Annual Meeting requires voting.
