BRENHAM CLINIC – COLLEGE STATION MED PARTNERSHIP ENDING

The nine year partnership between Brenham Clinic and College Station Medical Center is coming to an end.

In a statement released today (Tuesday), Brenham Clinic Administrator Melissa McCune announced that Brenham Clinic and College Station Medical Center will end their formal partnership effective July 16th.  McCune says “This was a strategic decision made by College Station Medical Center, also known as The Med, and supported by the Brenham Clinic administrative and physician group.”  The Clinic and The Med became partners in 2009.

McCune’s statement goes on to say “The Brenham Clinic has served this community for over 60 years, and that WILL NOT CHANGE.  Brenham Clinic is strong, the clinic is open and we will continue to serve your health care needs.  Brenham Clinic will be going through some changes and we see these changes as positive growth opportunities for us all.  We will keep you informed as we move through this transition….but know that your LOCAL Brenham Clinic has NOT CHANGED.  The same caring providers and staff are here and will continue to be here every day to take care of you and your loved ones.  Brenham Clinic is excited about our future and look forward to continuing to serve you and your healthcare needs!”

The termination of its partnership with Brenham Clinic is not the only change announced today (Tuesday) by College Station Medical Center.  The Med also announced that on the same date, July 16th, they will no longer provide childbirth services.  In their statement The Med says the hospital is moving in a new strategic direction, and these changes are the first of many intended to improve operations and focus on The Med’s most popular programs.
