COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER RESOLUTION OPPOSING TREATMENT CENTER

  

Washington County Commissioners appear to be ready to issue a resolution opposing the Bluebonnet Haven Residential Center during their meeting next Tuesday.   On the agenda for the meeting is discussion and possible action on resolution opposing the center.  Bluebonnet Haven is currently under construction on Highway 36 South of Brenham and could begin housing troubled teens in the fall of this year.

Also on the agenda are:

Appointments or re-appointments for the Local Workforce Development Board.

Authorization of a donation to the Sheriff’s Office and authorization for them to transport a (correction - vehicle - turns out that Brinks donated a used armored vehicle if the Sheriff’s Office would transport it back to Texas) to Washington County from Portland, Oregon.  They will also consider authorizing the Sheriff’s Office to purchase a Def-Tec system for breaching doors.

Consideration of a contract with the Department of State Health Services Vital Statistics Unit for remote birth certificate database services.

Consideration of the second reinstatement of the Interlocal Agreement for the Brazos Valley Wide Area Communications System.

Set the dates for firework sales in Washington County for the Memorial Day weekend.

Authorization of Seitel Data to place wireless receivers and recording stations along the county right of ways in Precincts 2, 3, and 4.

Washington County Commissioners meet at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the County Court House.
