FIRST FRIDAY FARMER AND ARTISAN MARKET IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

Downtown Brenham will host the inaugural “First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market” this Friday, May 4th.

From 3:00 ‘til 7:00 Friday afternoon, a variety of locally grown and homegrown fruits, vegetables, and meats along with handmade items will be available for sale on Park Street on the courthouse square in Brenham.  Mainstreet Brenham is sponsoring “First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market” on the first Friday afternoon of every month.

Among the vendors participating are Watermelon Hill, a sixth generation cattle ranch in Cat Spring that raises grass fed, grass finished beef and pastured eggs.  New Leaf Nursery will be selling herb plants and Texas native plants.  K&D Southern Creations will be selling etched stainless and carved glass in the form of wine glasses, tumblers, beer mugs, vases and other gifts.  11:11 Crafts and Soaps will be selling small batch artisan soaps scented with essential oils, lotion bars, body butter, body scrubs and other items.  Twisted Gems specializes in creative wire work and will be selling pendants, necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.  There will also be plenty of food vendors including Nonny’s Sweet Shoppe and Chilesquiles Foods, which features small batch jars of fresh, natural and sustainable ingredients in the tradition of homemade Tex-Mex cuisine.

A full list of participating vendors is available at www.downtownbrenham.com/farmersmarket.  Anyone interesting in becoming a vendor for “First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market” can also fill out an application on the website.  This Friday’s market will be open from 3:00 ‘til 7:00 on Park Street on the courthouse square.
