BRYAN MAN SENTENCED TO 50 YEARS FOR MURDER

  

A Bryan man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to a 2015 murder.

Nathaniel Tillery pleaded guilty Monday to the 2015 murder of Kevin Garcia.

Tillery has been in the Brazos County Jail since March 2015, charged with the murder of convenience store clerk Kevin Garcia. Tillery reportedly assaulted Garcia outside a gas station at Highway 6 and University Drive, then put Garcia in the back of Garcia's pickup, and driving him to Tillery's brother's home in North Texas. Garcia died at a hospital days later.

Tillery was later charged with assaulting a police officer, an inmate at the Brazos County Jail and several assaults on Brazos County Detention Center employees.

As part of his plea deal, Tillery will serve to a concurrent 50 year prison sentence for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
