BRENHAM F.D. CALLED OUT TO ACCIDENTS
The Brenham Fire Department was called on to clean up a major fuel leak on Highway 290, Monday morning.
The Department was called to Highway 290 West for a truck leaking diesel on the roadway.
Fire fighters cleaned up approximately 100 gallons of fuel that had spilled on the roadway from an 18-weeler. They also contained the spill until a Haz-Mat company arrived at the scene.
The cause of the fuel spill was the truck’s drive shaft which broke and punctured the saddle tanks on the truck.
The department was also called out to an auto accident Monday morning in the 1700 block of West Main.
At the scene, fire fighters found a vehicle on its side next to a house.
The driver was out of the vehicle when the department arrived.
There were no injuries in the wreck.
