LIBRARY, LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS HOSTING SCHOOL DRIVE

As the new school year approaches, the non-profit group “For the City”, in partnership with Brenham and Burton ISD, invites people to participate in a community-wide back to school drive.

The Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, along with 18 local businesses and organizations, will serve as donation collection sites during the entire month of July.

School Supply Lists are available at collection sites, ISD websites, and at http://cityofbrenham.org/library.

Donation collection sites include:

  • Associated Credit Union of Texas
  • Bank of Brenham
  • Blinn College Old Main
  • Bluebell Visitor Center
  • Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union
  • Brenham Clinic
  • Brenham’s First Baptist Church
  • Brenham ISD Central Office
  • Brenham National Bank
  • Burton ISD Central Office
  • Champion Fellowship
  • Citizens State Bank
  • City of Brenham Utility Office
  • Germania Insurance
  • Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library
  • Re/Max Advantage
  • St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

While serving as a collection site, the library is also offering a fine forgiveness program, accepting donated supplies in place of library fines. For more details about fine forgiveness, visit the library or call at 979-337-7201.

The library says this serves as an opportunity for the public to give back to the community while giving every student a chance to succeed.

Additional opportunities to donate supplies include two Stuff the Bus events in the Brenham Walmart parking lot from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 28 and August 11.
