BOIL ADVISORY LIFTED FOR BRENHAM

The boil water advisory for the city of Brenham has now been lifted.
After receiving test results this (Thursday) morning from the Brazos County Health Department lab in Bryan, city officials have determined that tap water is safe to be used and consumed normally.
Water Systems Superintendent Matthew Monfreda said that the water main was repaired Tuesday evening, after a contractor cut a 12-inch water main near Brenham’s water treatment plant.
This cut caused parts of the water system to lose pressure, and the advisory was issued as a precaution. Once crews restored pressure and repaired the water main, samples were taken in for testing on Wednesday.
The city thanks its customers for their patience through the wait, and apologizes for any inconvenience the boil advisory caused.
