AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING SINGLE-VEHICLE FATALITY IN NAVASOTA

  

One man is dead, following a single-vehicle accident occurring in Navasota Sunday morning.

According to Navasota Chief of Police Shawn Myatt, Navasota police reported finding the man dead in his vehicle, a 2012 Ford Focus, in the 1800 block of Austiana Court around 8 a.m.

The driver, 23-year-old Brandon Freeman of Sugarland, was said to have been driving south in the northbound lane of Highway 6.  He then drove off the road, hitting several fences and a shed at a home nearby.  No damage was done to the home, and no other injuries were reported.

Authorities report Freeman’s vehicle remained undiscovered for many hours, so it is undetermined when exactly the accident happened, or what the cause may have been.  Myatt says police are waiting on toxicology and autopsy reports.

Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
