WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO LOOK AT FLEET LEASING AGREEMENT
Washington County Commissioners are considering a service agreement for fleet leasing for Tuesday’s meeting.
The county could potentially enter into an agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management, a division of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
According to County Judge John Brieden, the agreement would be to lease vehicles for local agencies, such as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Brieden says this agreement would allow the county to get vehicles directly from factories at a discounted cost, and that the county would receive twice as many vehicles as it would have otherwise purchased.
Brieden says the other commissioners have been “very pleased” with the agreement, so they will look to move forward with it.
Commissioners will also look to approve a resolution authorizing submission of a block grant application for disaster recovery. According to Brieden, the federal government requires that the county adopt a citizen participation plan, an excessive force policy, and a procurement policy made with federal funds, in order to be eligible for grant funds from the federal government.
He says GrantWorks, the county’s new service provider for disaster recovery programs, is still in the application process.
In other items, commissioners will consider renewing a five-year non-financial agreement with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and a five-year inter-local agreement with Groundwater Management District 14.
The court will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
