The Cub Band finished among the top bands that competed at the Vista Ridge Marching Festival this weekend.

Saturday afternoon, the band participated at the contest in Cedar Park, which hosts groups of Austin and San Antonio Class 4A – 6A bands.  In prelims, the Cub Band took 3rd place in 5A, and 8th place overall.  Their prelim performance earned a spot in the finals, where they finished 10th.

Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson congratulates the Cub Band and band directors, saying Cub Nation is proud of their continued success.

This Saturday, the band will perform at its hometown contest hosted by the Blinn Buccaneer Band.  The Cub Band, along with four other 5A bands, will begin performing at 4:15 p.m.

Band Director Eric Rettig encourages everyone to come out and fill Cub Stadium with green for the Cub’s performance, scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m.
