TWO KILLED IN EARLY MORNING ACCIDENT IN BURLESON COUNTY

  

Update:  DPS Troopers are investigating a double-fatality crash early this morning at Cooks Point in Burleson County.

DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan reports that, just after 3 a.m., an 18-wheeler pulling a saltwater tank was stopped at the intersection on FM 1362.

As the truck was turning onto State Highway 21, an eastbound Dodge minivan hit the trailer.  Both the driver and passenger of the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver has been identified as 62-year-old Leslie Rosenberg, and the passenger as 19-year-old Sophie Rosenberg, both of Austin.  The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

State Highway 21 was reduced to two lanes for nearly six hours this morning.  All lanes have since been re-opened.  Investigation continues.

 

Original Story: Traffic delays are being reported in Burleson County following an early-morning accident.

A two vehicle accident involving an 18 wheeler in Cooks Point is causing delays on highway 21.

Traffic is down to one lane in both directions.  There is no word yet on any possible injuries.

The Department of Public Safety and Caldwell Fire Department are both responding to the accident.
