LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT VERY BUSY TUESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department had a busy day, Tuesday, responding to seven calls over a 24 hour period.
Firefighters were called out to an accident just after 2:30 p.m. at Highway 290 West and Hodde School Road.
One person was trapped in the two-vehicle collision. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extract the victim.
A burned out pump caused a light haze inside the Blue Bell Aquatic Center, just after 6:00 p.m.
The department used a large fan to remove the smoke.
Just before 10:00 p.m., the department was called to an electric pole that was sparking in the 2500 block of Cheri Lane. The department remained on location until Bluebonnet Electric arrived.
A gas odor was reported at a home in the 1600 block of Navartil Drive, Tuesday morning.
The Brenham Gas Department capped the leak.
The Department was also called back to the scene of Monday night’s massive fire at ASCO Equipment for smoke coming from the rubble. Firefighters extinguished several hot spots.
The department was also called out to a pair of false alarms.
