Rockdale Police have arrested a 30-year-old from New Mexico, who has been charged with capital murder in the death earlier this week of a 1-year old Rockdale girl.
Shawn Vincent Boniello of Albuquerque is charged with Capital Murder and Child Endangerment
According to Rockdale police, Boniello was watching 1-year old Patricia Ann Rader, at the home of the girl’s grandfather—who had custody of the child, but was at work at the time.
Authorities were called to the home just before 6:00 p.m., Monday night. The child was declared dead about 30 minutes later.
First responders noted bruising along girl’s torso, arms, legs, neck and head. According to Rockdale Police, an autopsy showed the girl had extensive internal injuries and broken bones throughout her body.
Police questioned Boniello, who met the baby’s grandfather earlier this year over a dating website.
According to police, Boniello confessed to punching, slapping, shaking and squeezing the child until the girl stopped moving.
Boniello is charged with child endangerment and capital murder and is currently being held in the Milam County Jail.
