FOUR TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER HEAD-ON CRASH NEAR SNOOK
Update @ 4:55 p.m.: Four people were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision near Snook this (Friday) afternoon.
DPS Sergeant Stephen Woodard reports the crash occurred around 12:05 p.m. on FM 60, just past the intersection with FM 50.
A Volkswagen Tiguan was headed east on FM 60, when it crossed the center median ditch, went airborne, and crashed head-on with a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 48-year-old Anthony Lawrence of Porter, was taken by helicopter to CHI St. Joseph in Bryan. The passengers in the Chevrolet were identified as Elizabeth, Keith, and Peggy Cannon, each from Centerville. They were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Authorities are unsure of the severity of the injuries. Traffic was briefly diverted while officials worked the crash on FM 60, which has since been reopened.
