GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO PLUMMET

  

As 2018 comes to a close, gas prices in Texas are at some of the lowest seen all year.

Currently, the statewide average per gallon is $1.95, down seven cents from last week.  According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, that is 26 cents cheaper compared to this time last year.

Locally, the average price for a gallon is $2.00, with a low of $1.95.

Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Midland are paying the most on average at $2.49 per gallon, while drivers in Sherman-Denison are paying the least at $1.82.

Meanwhile, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.27, nine cents cheaper than last week, and 19 cents less than this time last year.
