COLUMBUS POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN ROBBERY AT H-E-B

  

Police are searching for a suspect in a robbery that occurred early this (Thursday) morning at the Columbus H-E-B.

A release from the Columbus Police Department says at about 7:30 a.m., a man committed an Aggravated Robbery at the store on 2103 Milam Street.

The suspect, a black male, is believed to have attacked store clerks while taking an undetermined amount of money.

Police Chief Skip Edman said the department is still interviewing witnesses, and is working with the Brenham and Wharton Police Departments.  Police are in the process of collecting statements and evidence.

Wharton police say in a release that the suspect also attempted to rob their local H-E-B in late December.  The suspect is said to have passed a cryptic note to a clerk in both crimes, and was seen driving a white KIA Soul in both offenses.
