BRENHAM WOMEN’S HEALTH TO CLOSE IN MARCH, DR. CAMPBELL JOINING BAYLOR SCOTT AND WHITE

Brenham Women’s Health will close its doors in March.

Dr. Aaron Campbell, the only certified OB/GYN in Brenham, announced Wednesday that he would no longer be delivering babies at this time, due to the “extreme strain” it has placed on him and his family.  As a result, Brenham Women’s Health on 605 Medical Courts will be closing March 8th.

However, Dr. Campbell also announced he will be joining Baylor Scott and White in Brenham, to continue providing prenatal care and full gynecology services.  His new office will be at the Baylor Scott and White Brenham Clinic at 600 North Park Street, beginning March 19th.

Dr. Campbell said patients can continue to follow him with no interruption in care, and without a need to request records.  He said he will continue to support Labor and Delivery in Brenham by providing obstetrics back-up call for his local family practice group, along with additional providers currently being secured by Baylor Scott and White.

This comes after Baylor Scott and White’s announcement last week that it obtained temporary OB/GYN support, and would resume scheduled deliveries.  The hospital closed its Labor and Delivery Department in December, due to the lack of certified OB/GYN’s in Brenham.  The department was reopened Monday.

Staff at Brenham Women’s Health are communicating directly with patients to help them develop a plan for their deliveries.
