BRENHAM ISD USING NEW SOCIAL MEDIA MONITORING SERVICE

Brenham ISD has a new tool for parents and teachers to use to help keep students safe.

Brenham school officials are now utilizing Bark, a service that monitors text messages, YouTube, email, and social media platforms and apps.  Parents are alerted when potential risks are detected, and Bark gives recommendations to help them have conversations with their children about online safety.

Bark for Schools monitors all school-issued accounts, and sends an alert to school officials when a potentially harmful message is detected.  Parents can join the school in receiving alerts when Bark for Schools discovers concerning messages or content in school-issued accounts, including issues found in emails, chats, and other documents or files.

Bark for Parents is free for parents who monitor student's school accounts.  Parents can also sign up to monitor their child's personal accounts for a monthly fee.

For more information about Bark, go online to www.bark.us.
