BROUGHT BACK: BRENHAM WOMAN TELLS INSPIRING STORY OF LIFE AFTER DEATH

The morning of November 17, 2018 began a series of events that changed the life of Brenham resident Shirley Prihoda forever.
A grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired hospital administrator, the 70-year-old Prihoda was getting ready to host a family gathering that morning. She was brushing her teeth, when she suddenly began feeling a very sharp pain in her chest.
Prihoda made it to her bedroom and called her husband, who promptly took her to the emergency room in Brenham, a few blocks from where they live. Upon arriving there, doctors confirmed she was having a heart attack. She was then immediately taken to Baylor Scott and White in College Station.
She recalled feeling incredible peace and comfort in those moments.
As she was brought back, she remembered the pain slamming back into her chest. She said she’s extremely grateful to have been given a second chance, but she wants to determine why she was the one that was brought back.
She also wants to encourage anyone experiencing the kind of sudden pain she had to not ignore it and seek medical help as soon as possible.
