CUBS BASEBALL TO HOST VETERANS NIGHT
The Brenham Cubs will continue their tradition of honoring local veterans tonight as they host Rudder at Firemen’s Park.
The Cubs (17-8/2-6) will host the Rudder Rangers (2-6) in a District 19/5A battle at 7:00.
Both the Cubs and the Rangers hope to keep their post-season hopes alive as they square off twice this week—tonight and Friday in Bryan.
The Cubs are hoping back-to-back wins last week over Paetow will carry over into this week, as they find themselves currently three games out of the fourth-and-final playoff berth in the district.
Tonight is also the annual celebration of local veterans. All veterans get into the game for free and will be honored prior to the contest with a special ceremony, first pitch and national anthem on the field.
The celebration of local veterans continues a long-time Cubs tradition, begun by former head coach Jim Long.
