“MOVIES IN THE PARK” SUMMER LINEUP ANNOUNCED
The City of Brenham’s popular “Movies in the Park” has been announced for this summer.
The summer series kicks off with “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” on Thursday, May 30th at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center. Gates open at 8 p.m. Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family. Hotel Transylvania 3 is sponsored by The Kids Klub of Brenham’s 1st Baptist Church.
The second movie of the summer series features “Mary Poppins Returns” on Thursday, June 13th, at Hohlt Park. Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael's children through a difficult time in their lives. Mary Poppins Returns is sponsored by Briannas Fine Salad Dressings. The movie will begin approximately ten minutes after sunset.
“Ralph Breaks the Internet” will be shown on the big screen Thursday, June 27th, at Hohlt Park. Six years after the events of "Wreck-It Ralph," Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a Wi-Fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure. Ralph Breaks the Internet is sponsored by RE/MAX Advantage. The movie will begin approximately ten minutes after sunset.
On Thursday, July 18th, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” will be shown at Hohlt Park. When Hiccup discovers Toothless isn't the only Night Fury, he must seek "The Hidden World", a secret Dragon Utopia before a hired tyrant named Grimmel finds it first. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Brenham. The movie will begin approximately ten minutes after sunset.
Thursday, August 1st will wrap up the series with a throwback favorite, “Hook” at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center. Gates open at 8 p.m. When Captain Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit to challenge his old enemy. Hook is sponsored by The Barnhill House Toys & Books.
All of the movies are rated “PG”. For those at Hohlt Park, families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke said “Movies in the Park” would not be possible it not for the supporters in the community who sponsor the series, and bring popular movie titles to the park for an evening of free family fun. This is the 10th season for the City of Brenham to host summer movies under the stars in the city’s parks.
