WASHINGTON CO. CHAMBER PREPARING TO HOST 6TH ANNUAL SMALL BUSINESS FORUM

Small business owners and managers in the area will want to mark June 5th on their calendar for the 6th Annual Small Business Forum in Brenham.

The forum will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds Event Center, at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.

Sponsored by Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Brenham National Bank and Citizens State Bank, the annual forum provides a local opportunity to gain professional contacts and the knowledge to help businesses thrive.

The event is being co-hosted by the Washington County, Navasota-Grimes County and Burleson County chambers. Attendees will hear from several speakers who have been recruited by these three chambers, including: Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation President Matt Prochaska; U.S. Small Business Administration Houston District Deputy Director Mark Winchester; John Romero of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service; and Tax Manager Ashley Freeman.

The keynote speaker during the luncheon will be Dr. Nathan Bryan of Baylor College of Medicine. The title of his lecture will be “How Not to Die from Cardiovascular Disease: My Story of Discoveries and Life Lessons Learned along the Journey”.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Small Business of the Year Awards for 2019. Last year, the honor was awarded to Bliss Candy Company and South Texas Tack.  This year, Tee Dippel of Brenham National Bank will serve as the emcee.

Tickets to the Small Business Forum are $49 for Chamber members and $59 for non-members until May 31. Tickets include a buffet lunch.  Corporate Sponsor tables are available for $499, which includes tickets for eight guests, plus the company name displayed at the event, online and on the printed program.

Individual tickets and tables can be purchased online at www.BrenhamTexas.com/pages/SmallBusinessForum.
