SHINER CATHOLIC CHURCH TO HOST 33RD ANNUAL SPRING PICNIC

  

The Shiner Catholic Church is hosting its 33rd Annual Spring Picnic later this month.

The picnic will be held Sunday, May 26th at the KC Park, located at 102 South Avenue G in Shiner.

Pre-picnic activities begin Saturday with motorcycle run registration at 11 a.m.  Activities continue into the evening, with the restored historic beer stand opening at 6 p.m., barbecue sandwiches, and music from the Mama Tried Band at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, dinner plates including Shiner picnic stew, fried chicken and country sausage trimmings will be served for $10 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Kaspar Pavilion.

The day will be full of music, starting with local accordion players at 11 a.m., the Shiner Hobo Band at 2 p.m., and Mark Halata and Texavia at 4 p.m.  Outside the historic beer stand, Vic and Beav will perform at 1 p.m., the Alpine Express Duo featuring Terry Cavanagh at 3:30 p.m., and the Chris Rybak Band at 6:30 p.m.  The night will round out with a dance with the Emotions at 9 p.m., free for anyone 21 and over.

The picnic will also have a country store, big country auction, bingo, a petting zoo, games, and arts and crafts.
