SLAVNOST MAY 19TH AT TEXAS CZECH HERITAGE CENTER IN LA GRANGE
The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC) is set to present a full day of music, food, dancing and remembrance Sunday, with the 18th Annual Slavnost in La Grange.
The festival begins with a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. to pay tribute to all Czech-Texas immigrants.
That will be followed by a fried chicken dinner at 11:30 a.m., music from the Texas Dutchmen, May Pole Dancing, a demonstration at the Zapalač Saw Mill, and Czech Village and Museum tours.
There will also be the re-opening of SPJST Lodge 19 Velehrad at 1:30 p.m., a car show, and plenty of chances to shop in the Country Store, Kopecky Gift Shop, and pastry shop.
