BARNHILL CENTER ANNOUNCES MOVIES, MUSIC PERFORMANCES THROUGH 2019

  

The Barnhill Center in Brenham has announced a packed schedule of events through the rest of the year.

Seven events, including five entertainers and a pair of classic movies, will run through 2019.

The schedule begins with the showing of the 1993 baseball comedy “The Sandlot” on Friday, July 26th.  The day will begin at 10 a.m. with baseball-themed games, a ballpark lunch and Cracker Jacks, and the movie on the big screen.  Tickets are $15, and will go on sale June 24th.

The next event will feature the Austin band “Shinyribs” on Saturday, August 17th at 7 p.m.  The soul-blues blending band was named 2017 Best Austin Band at the Houston Chronicle’s Music Awards, and won Album of the Year from the Austin American-Statesman.  Tickets range from $40 to $50, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 15th.

Following in the fall on Saturday, September 28th at 7 p.m. will be “The Comedy and Magic of Harry Maurer”.  The event will include a pre-show party with close-up magic with Maurer, an Atlantic City Entertainer of the Year nominee.  Tickets run from $25 to $40, and will go on sale August 26th.

A month later, guests will have the chance to see and meet the award-winning Gary P. Nunn before he retires next year. Nunn, winner of the CMA Award, Grammy Award and MBI Million-Air Award, will perform Saturday, October 26th at 7 p.m.  Tickets range from $40 to $55, and will go on sale September 23rd at 10 a.m.

More than a dozen Local Legends will hit the stage Saturday, November 16th at 7 p.m., featuring Washington County favorites like Allison Crowson, Paul and Sam Murski, Neil Kulhanek, Robert Zeintek, and David Reynolds.  Tickets will be available on October 14th at 10 a.m., from $15 to $20.

The fan-favorite Gatlin Brothers, who sold out their past performance at the Barnhill Center in less than a day, will come back for “Country and Christmas” on Friday, December 6th at 7 p.m.  The trio, winners of multiple Grammy and CMA awards, will perform their top hits along with holiday music, as well as tell a few fun stories and take some photos.  Tickets go on sale on November 14th at 10 a.m., ranging from $80 to $95.

The schedule closes out with the 1990 holiday classic “Home Alone” on Friday, December 13th at 6 p.m.  The evening will feature the movie along with a storytime, singalong with Miss LouLou, snacks, and the chance to write a letter for Santa in person.  Tickets become available November 18th at 10 a.m., for $15.
