KEMAH POLICE CHIEF MISSING OFF GALVESTON BAY

The search continues this morning for a Texas police chief after an accident at sea.
The Coast Guard spent Friday night combing the Galveston Bay for the 50-year old Chris Reed, the Kemah Police chief, after a wave from a large vessel threw him overboard.
According to authorities, Reed was not wearing a life jacket when the pleasure craft he was on was rocked by the boat's wake around 4 p.m. He lost his balance and fell into the water.
Texas City Police Department received the emergency call and about a dozen agencies responded to the bay, including the Coast Guard.
Reed, an Army veteran, has served as Kemah police chief since 2016. He and his wife have three children.
