BRENHAM MAN GIVEN FOUR YEARS FOR BURGLARY CHARGE

A Brenham man has been sentenced to four years in prison in the latest edition of the Washington County Grand Jury.
27-year-old Joshua Lakendrik Briscoe was sentenced last week to four years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation.
Briscoe was arrested March 10, 2018, after police said he entered a residence on Willow Circle and assaulted a subject. He was located and placed in custody after running from officers.
Also given prison time were 21-year-old Zachary Jenney of Magnolia and 41-year-old Tyson James Barber of Houston, both for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Jenney had his probation adjudicated and was sentenced to 80 months in prison for the second degree felony charge. He will also have to pay a $1,968 fine.
Barber was sentenced to four years in prison for his possession charge, enhanced to a third degree felony.
Three people were sentenced to deferred adjudication probation:
20-year-old Jakevis Deontrell Gaines of Brenham, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Gaines was given eight years probation, and will have to pay a $1,500 fine, undergo an anger management program and drug and alcohol treatment, perform 200 hours of community service restitution, and maintain no contact with the victim.
54-year-old Debra Rochell Reliford of Brenham, also for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Reliford was also given eight years probation, and will have to pay a $750 fine, complete a batterers intervention program, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation, perform 200 hours of community service, and maintain no contact with the victim.
23-year-old Rajan Gauchan of Washington, for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle. Gauchan was sentenced to four years probation, and will have to pay a $1,000 fine, go through drug and alcohol treatment, and perform 200 hours of community service.
