BURTON TEENAGERS ORGANIZE FREEDOM OF SPEECH RALLY IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM
A group of local citizens showed off their political activism Saturday afternoon, setting up on the Washington County Courthouse square for a freedom of speech rally.
Roughly a dozen event organizers stood at the corner by the courthouse gazebo, with some politically charged signs in tow.
While not many came out to the rally, numerous vehicles passing by gave their thoughts on the group as they drove by, whether by honking horns, shaking heads, or giving thumbs-up.
Event organizers included Brayten Rolling and Katryna Allen, two students from Burton High School. Rolling said, while the turnout might not have been what was expected, the group achieved its goal.
Much of the group on the square disbanded sooner than expected, due to the heat that afternoon. The rally did remain peaceful.
If these young people is an example of our future,I think we are going to be in good shape ,a lot better than we are now.
Glad to see young people getting involved and not just sitting around playing video games are out partying and drinking ! Keep up the good work .
