BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER PURCHASING NEW DRUG DOG

Burton could soon be getting a new drug dog.

The Burton City Council will meet on Tuesday to consider what action to take regarding a recently received donation.

The council could potentially use that donation to purchase a new drug dog for the Burton Police Department, for $12,900.

Also in session, the council will reconsider a contract between the city and Jason Jaster for maintenance on city property, including mowing and edging at City Hall, the water well, water tower, and Weeren Park.

The contract was tabled at the last meeting, to allow councilmembers to consider other possible responsibilities for the current maintenance worker.

Councilmembers will also consider approving the addition of quarterly cleanup for heavy or large trash.  The council recently received a suggestion that the city have quarterly, 30 cubic yard dumpsters available for disposal of large items not included in regular trash pick-up.

The council will meet Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m., at Burton City Hall.
