BARNHILL CENTER ANNOUNCES “SHINYRIBS”, NEW SERVICES
As the Barnhill Center in Brenham prepares to host its first concert of the new season, it is also rolling out new offerings for patrons.
Saturday, August 17th at 7 p.m., the country blues/soul band “Shinyribs” will perform its eclectic blend of Texas blues, New Orleans funk, country twang, big band swing, horn-driven Memphis soul, and even some Tin Pan Alley at the Barnhill Center.
The group has released four albums, and its latest, “I Got Your Medicine”, was named Album of the Year at the Houston Chronicle’s Music Awards. The band’s popularity rose after the 2018 performance on the award winning PBS show Austin City Limits.
Due to limited seating, the show is expected to quickly sell out. However, after numerous requests for season tickets and reserved seating, the Barnhill Center is introducing a new program with this show, called SIMON SELECT. City of Brenham Tourism and Marketing Director Jennifer Eckermann says SIMON SELECT will allow enthusiasts a chance to choose their preferred seats a full week before tickets go on sale to the public.
A limited number of patrons will be able to purchase SIMON SELECT tickets with an additional $15 surcharge. SIMON SELECT pre-sale tickets for “Shinyribs” will be available for one week, starting today (Monday) at 10 a.m. Tickets at regular published prices will go on sale next Monday, July 15th, at 10 a.m.
The new SIMON CLUB will also be offered at the show, bringing exclusive services to those seated in the balcony. Wait staff will serve concessions to upstairs patrons at their seats throughout the evening. Eckermann says this will allow guests to avoid having to go downstairs for refills and enjoy a whole show without interruptions.
