WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CONTRACT
Washington County Commissioners will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) to discuss moving forward with program management services for the Road and Bridge Facility under construction.
Commissioners will consider approving a contract between the county and EMC International, Inc., who upon approval would oversee construction of the $4,080,000 facility. The facility is planned to house the road and bridge, rural addressing, and environmental services.
Back in April, the county officially broke ground at the site of the facility on Highway 36 North. The project was designed by PlanNorth Architecture, and is being built by Collier Construction. As groundwork is being completed, construction should soon begin.
Commissioners in May went out for requests for qualifications for program management services. At the time, County Judge John Durrenberger said commissioners do not have the expertise to oversee these projects by themselves. Commissioner Candace Bullock previously stated a project manager will not be able to make decisions on the project without approval from commissioners.
The court will also hear the 2018 audit report from Rutledge, Crain and Company, Certified Public Accountants. Durrenberger said he is not expecting any big surprises in this audit.
In addition, commissioners will consider accepting Council Lane, East Crosswinds Court, West Crosswinds Court, and Carey Drive into the county road system. These roads are located in the Crosswinds Estates Subdivision off of Fritz Road and Highway 36 North in Precinct Three, near the site of the new Road and Bridge Facility.
Commissioners will also:
- Open and discuss sealed requests for proposals for inmate food services at the Washington County Jail.
- Discuss a pair of formal notices for proposed utility lines from Verdun Oil Company. The formal notices are for 6-inch natural gas pipeline crossings within county right-of-way of Brandt Road and Eckermann Road in Precinct Four.
Commissioners will meet tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
