Shortly before 1:45 a.m., Deputy Ryan Meagher stopped a pickup truck on South Kirtley Road, near the Bastrop County line, for a traffic violation. Then just before 2:45 a.m., Deputy James Ulbig stopped a speeding vehicle on I-10 westbound, at the 657 mile marker, traveling 120 miles per hour. Upon making contact with the driver, an odor of marijuana was detected, and the driver admitted to having smoked marijuana. After searching the vehicle, Deputy Ulbig found marijuana inside. Arrested was 18-year-old Donye Westbrooks of San Marcos, charged with Possession of Marijuana.
All three were taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
After reading the accounts of the two females arrested, does any rational person think legalized marijuana would not increase the number (and possibly the severity) of auto accidents?
