BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. PUTS OUT GARBAGE FIRE, FRIDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department extinguished a fire on a garbage truck, Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called out to the local Whataburger Restaurant in the 2800 block of Highway 36 South, Friday, just after 4:00 p.m.

At the scene, they found a garbage truck on fire with all the garbage dumped on the ground also burning.

Firemen extinguished the fire inside of truck and then extinguished the pile of trash on ground.

The department stood by until cleanup crew arrived with machinery to spread out the large pile of garbage to cool off hot spots.

Firefighters were on the scene for approximately 4 hrs.
