(Brazos Co. Jail)
A Lee County man, who confessed to drinking ‘two measuring cups full of vodka’, face multiple charges, including injuring a Brazos County Sheriff’s deputy.
32-year old Byron Cook of Giddings is in the Brazos County jail, after his arrest early Thursday morning.
Deputies say Cook was witnessed driving a car at a high rate of speed and then became involved in a hit and run with a parked vehicle. Authorities say Cook’s vehicle was going at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.
Once the car was stopped, deputies say Cook became verbally and physically combative.
Cook reportedly scratched one of the deputies hard enough to draw blood.
Cook was eventually subdued and taken to the Brazos County jail on charges of DWI-2nd Offense, Assault on a Public Servant and Resisting Arrest. His bonds total $16,000.
