BRENHAM ISD PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH/BREAKFAST PROGRAM
Brenham ISD has announced its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals for students.
Children from households whose income is at or below a certain level can qualify for free or reduced-price meals, served under the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program for the new school year.
With the program, eligible students could pay only 30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch, or receive those meals for free. The program is available at all BISD schools.
Letters are being sent out to households, informing them of the benefits available for their children.
Household size and income will determine eligibility. Foster children who are cared for by a welfare agency or court may also be eligible for benefits, regardless of household income.
Each of the schools in the district, along with the district’s central office, has a copy of the policy available for anyone to review.
Applications can be submitted any time during the school year.
