BRENHAM ISD TO OFFER PARENT UNIVERSITY THURSDAY

Brenham ISD invites parents Thursday to go back to school.

Parent University will be held at the Brenham Community Education Building at 1301 South Market Street.  Two sessions are available to best fit one’s schedule: 8 a.m. to noon, or from 3 to 7 p.m.

The goal of Parent University is to increase meaningful parental involvement in public schools, and empower parents to raise children who grow to be successful in school and life.  Parent University aims to provide knowledge and strategies that parents can use to enhance their roles as student advocates, and provide emotional support throughout their child’s educational years.

Parents who attend Parent University can expect to learn about the best routines to start off the school year, get tips and advice from the district’s social emotional coordinators, and understand academic websites likes Parent Portal, Remind, and BARK.

For more information on Parent University, contact Brenham ISD F.A.M.E. parent liaison Karem Chandler at kchandler@brenhamk-12.net.
