LOCAL SALES TAX ALLOCATIONS UP FOR ALL ENTITIES
Sales and tax distributions were up this month for Washington County, Brenham and Burton.
September saw Washington County receive $269,674, up 4.5 percent from this time a year ago, when the county received $258,033. So far in 2019, the county has received $2,422,642, a 9.1 percent increase over the $2,219,523 it received through this point last year.
Brenham received $582,260 this month, compared to last September’s $526,602, a 10.5 percent increase. Through 2019, the city has received $5,257,052, up 8.6 percent from last year’s $4,836,881 over the same period.
Burton’s September rebate was $6,672, up 14.8 percent from last September’s payment of $5,810. So far this year, Burton has received $61,680, an 11 percent increase from the $55,479 it had received at this point last year.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported the state paid out $801.5 million in September, up 8.5 percent from last September, and up 5 percent for the year so far.
