NEELEIGH WELLMANN CROWNED 2019 WASHINGTON CO. FAIR QUEEN
Royalty of the 151st Washington County Fair was crowned tonight (Wednesday).
Neeleigh Wellmann was crowned Queen of the Fair. Wellmann sold a total of 2,216 season passes, raising $66,480. She represented Washington County 4-H, and is the daughter of Wade and Tara Wellmann.
The record for individual ticket sales was set last year by Hanna Warmke, who sold 4,288 tickets for $128,640.
This year’s runner up was Carsyn Hodde, who sold 2,190 tickets. She is the daughter of Randy and Debbie Hodde, and represented Washington County 4-H.
Judges’ Choice went to Sydney Stein, representing the Brenham FFA. She is the daughter of Darrell and Rose Stein.
Altogether, the five candidates raised $199,320 and sold 6,644 season passes. The combined ticket sales record of $221,436 was set at last year’s fair.
Also announced tonight were the winners of the Little and Junior Mr. and Miss contests. This year’s Junior Mr. and Miss are Connor Schlottmann and Kennedy Thumann. Meanwhile, Barhett Davis and Holly Sommerfield were announced as this year’s Little Mr. and Miss.
Official opening ceremonies were held tonight, with entertainment from Jake Hooker and the Outsiders. Activities continue throughout the week, wrapping up Saturday night with performances from Kevin Fowler and Steve Wariner.
