BRENHAM WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT “SHEET PILING” PROJECT NEARLY COMPLETE
Brenham officials say the loud banging noises coming from the city’s wastewater treatment plant won’t be going on for too much longer.
Back in July, contractors began the installation of “sheet piling” at the plant, located at 2005 Old Chappell Hill Road. The process involves wedging steel sheets into the earth to provide protection from bodies of water and help prevent erosion.
Those steel sheets are driven into the ground by impact hammers. The resulting noise has drawn some complaints from citizens.
Both Public Works Director Dane Rau and Assistant City Manager of Public Utilities Lowell Ogle say they expect the project to last about seven more days, at most.
The City of Brenham thanks the community for its patience during the project.
