BURTON MAN SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS FOR FELONY DWI
A Burton man convicted earlier this year on a felony DWI charge has been sentenced to prison time.
43-year-old Juan Antonio Rosales was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison for Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd or More Offense. A Washington County Grand Jury found Rosales guilty of the charge in July.
Rosales was stopped by Brenham police during a traffic stop in 2017 for unsafe driving. During investigation, Rosales performed poorly on sobriety tests and admitted to drinking and driving. Lab tests showed that his blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.171, more than twice the legal limit.
Investigation showed Rosales had previous DWI convictions in both Waller and Austin Counties.
In addition to his sentence, Rosales will also have to pay $100 for the EMS trauma fund, and lab and jury fees.
